AWARDS

In 1998, Charlene was awarded First Place in the Amateur Division, of the McMillian Gallery Stained Glass Show, for her Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, Cap Badge Window. This window combines the techniques of using Ultra-Violet Glass Glue, Lead-based painting (which is then kiln-fired onto the glass permanently), as well as Sand-Blasting of the letters onto Flashed Glass (glass which is 2 layers of colour, blasting away one of the coloured layers).

In 2000, Charlene was once again awarded First Place in the Amateur Division, of the McMillian Gallery Stained Glass Show, for her Canadian Airborne Regiment Window. This window combines techniques of Sand-Blasting the letters and Maple Leaf designs onto Flashed glass, Silver-Staining of the feathered glass pieces (another paint & kiln-fired process to permanently "stain" the white glass a yellow shade), as well as using copper wire overlays to simulate the parachute strings.

Lines Vase – this was accepted into the Sooke Fine Arts 2006 show, and was sold on opening night! The design was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s use of lines & circles. Several types of clear textured glasses are accented with mirrored circles for a striking effect.
